NEW UNIFORM A TRUE TEAM EFFORT
NYI Fan Central Comments:
Was it that hard to just re-release the throwback jersey's they wore last season for one game because no doubt they were a hit with the fans? I'm a traditional fan who feels the origional jersey's are the only ones this team should ever wear as the championship traditional team in New York Hockey.
I'm not a fashion critic but to me this seems like a uniform made to cater to kids that looks more like pajamas than a hockey uniform. I never needed numbers on the front of the sweater. Was it necessary to keep featuring the stripes that Howard Milstein brought in with the 98 redesign?
I understand Smg takes the parking, concessions and part of the gate and releasing a new look uniform makes money for the club that they need and there is no doubt management is trying to bring in the younger fans. There is no doubt going back to an older design that many fans may own could hold down sales.
Overall, in a word. Yuck.
DiPietro at least he's healthy by the pictures.
