Ct Post: Michael Fornabaio reported in his blog this afternoon Daryl Bootland was placed on waivers by the Islanders while Oliver Labelle was sent to Utah because they were carrying thirteen forwards.

Newsday: John Jeansonne's blog today is on the Islander schdedule and the announcement of a
"Core of Four" celebration, where all the members of the team's four-consecutive Stanley Cup winners in 1980-84 will be honored in March.

NYI Fan Central Comments:
Looks like management made a decision on making room for a possible Bates return or Johnson is going to play wing for a while. Oliver Labelle going to Utah is a part of that with the Sound Tigers having a forward surplus.

I read about a possible event for the players who won all four cups sometime this season. What I'm surprised at is that Islander Hall of Fame Banner for Bob Bourne hangs from the rafters and no player has been announced to this point for this year while Bourne's night was announced well in advance last season.

I'm still lobbying for Jiggs McDonald because he continues to stand by this team and going to Moncton just to prepare to maybe work a game says how much he loved doing this and being part of the Islander family.
