Newsday: Mark Herrmann has an article about Brendan Witt's shootout abilities after an upbeat practice Monday with more comments on the long layoff between games with the upside and downsides that come with. Four on four play was concentrated on as well.

"I think it's your mental edge," Witt said. "We had the energy." He said that when a team plays game after game, things flow naturally, adding, "It makes it easier to make plays if you don't think a lot."

NYI Fan Central Comments:
Isles TV: Is is the next best thing to attending in person for those looking for a little more beyond the Newspaper coverage. Mike Comrie, Brendan Witt and Ted Nolan interviews are part of the six minute recap. Practice was at Iceworks for those wondering after the lights went out last week and the club moved a practice to the Coliseum.

Ct Post: Michael Fornabaio had the following from team Sound Tigers President Howard Saffin on Trevor Smith's demotion to Utah.

"We see a kid with that much promise, we don't want to see him sitting on the bench," "It's no different than why (Jeff) Tambellini is with us rather than the Islanders."

Updated 9:30am
Calgary Sun: Steve MacFarlane had a very intersting article on former Islander Eric Godard's improved play with comments from teammate Adrian Aucoin.
