Islanders website: Has the early update on tonight's 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

"We didn't set-up well," said Bryan Berard about the power that went 0-for-2. "We squeezed our sticks too tight and we didn't get enough shots through. We were rushing too much."

NYI Fan Central Comments:
Did not create enough chances in Pittsburgh's end of the ice or work them enough in the corners. This is another game you have to take into overtime and get some kind of points in and it can snowball which is why the Flyer loss was important. They are getting some scoring from unexpected sources like Vasicek, but they need a lot more from this lineup.

Pittsburgh looked like a team waiting to lose this game in the third period and have been struggling so badly Mark Recchi and Darryl Sydor were healthy scratches.

Power play at the end looked totally lost and Pittsburgh almost gave them a great chance in the final seconds and if Fedntenko passes back to Park it's a tie game going to ot. Give up a two man power play to Pittsburgh and they will score, even if DiPietro should have had his post better on the play.

Too many turnovers from the defense, the one that led to Laraque's goal was a killer by Witt. Sutton did a solid job again.

Another expensive night with three teams in the division getting a least a point, about three of four things could easily have happened and I would be writing about at least one point. Park getting robbed, Hunter's post shot.

At times the Islanders have played better in the two losses then in some wins, it's not a lack of working hard.
