Going to take a break from the Espn scoreboard. Islanders Foxsports scoreboard on the sidebar does the exact same thing and includes the time left in the game more accurate.

Islanders website: Has the preview of tonight's game against the Ottawa Senators who have won four straight and are
13-3-1 since Dec. 5.

Ottawa Sun: Don Brennan reported in the Senators 3-2 win against Detroit Saturday, Dany Heatley left the game in the third with a shoulder injury. Martin Gerber did not start against the Wings.

NYI Fan Central Comments:
Given how well Ottawa has played recently combined with coming off the momentum of a huge win against Detroit plus no Brendan Witt, Martinek or Satan it's going to be a tough game for the Islanders to get points from.

That written Washington went up to Ottawa and scored eight goals and beat them a second time. Anything can happen here.

Looks like they rested their more consistent goaltender in Martin Gerber who will likely start today.

Perhaps a possible injury to Heatley combined with back to back days at home takes a little out of Ottawa early. It would be a good plan to try and score some more first period goals like in Calgary but in games like this the Sens always dictate the pace, the Islanders just try and keep up.

Should be interesting to see what Ted Nolan does with another left wing in Tambellini unless he moves Richard Park to the right side which he did earlier this year.

Bottom line New Jersey won it's usual shootout against Buffalo, Rangers trapped the Canadians to break their losing streak, Pittsburgh got their overtime point and so did Philadelphia.

Things change quickly in this division but at this time the teams are adding to their point total. Islanders must do the same because it's unlikely four or five teams make the playoffs from one division.

DiPietro will likley start this time in Ottawa but it will be tough for him to play as well as Dubie did up there his last start. Scoring momentum from the last game must carry over here unless we see a sluggish first period from both clubs.

Did I write the defense will have to be outstanding to give DiPietro a chance?
Good luck Freddy Meyer, Marc Andre Bergeron and Bryan Berard. Isles need that and Gervais, Campoli, Sutton with the forwards to be on their game.
