Tambellini to Bridgeport

Ct Post: Michael Fornabaio reports Jeff Tambellini was sent back to Bridgeport today with his comments because Thursday was his seventy ninth NHL game. Because he signed at age twenty one as soon as he played game eighty, he'd be subject to waivers.

AHL.com: Reports Jeremy Colliton was sent down and recalled today along with the other Bridgeport transactions.

Islanders website: Has Garth Snow's comments on why he sent Tambellini to Bridgeport.

NYI Fan Central Comments:
I think it's fair to ask how come Kyle Okposo, Blake Comeau, are not going down with Tambellini for the same reasons the gm discussed. I agree with sending him down if it allows the club to keep him off waivers, but the idea he is going down to play more minutes just does not add up considering the minutes he has been getting with the Islander veterans.

Truth is he has been less visible than the other call ups and as the veteran prospect in this group who was in the same spot two years ago that cannot be seen as progress which is not about goals and points but working to create chances.
