Newsday Blog Update/Charles Wang Sunday

Newsday: Greg Logan blogged on the Islanders page Saturday night on a bunch of items around the team. Ted Nolan, Richard Park, Jack Hillen and Kyle Okposo were quoted.

Sunday's Newspaper edition features Charles Wang on the relationship between himself, coach Ted Nolan and general manager Garth Snow and the direction the franchise plans to take next season.

NYI Fan Central Comments:
Seems the Newsday sports editor will not even give the Isles enough space in the print section for a second article Sunday so Mr Logan had to use the blog after Mark Herrmann was not around to do an Islander centric feature after their win Friday.

Seems Greg Logan went overboard comparing signing Hillen to making up for giving away last year’s first-round pick in the Ryan Smyth trade because one has nothing to do with the other.

I guess the end of the season wrap up does not merit a second print article so if you do not follow the club on-line you are out of luck.

Of course, half the team went from Msg straight to Hershey after last night's game and who knows when they will be back if at all. Not sure if we are going to get a Rick DiPietro sighting or a Jon Sim, Shawn Bates appearance.

Should be interesting to see what Mr Wang says and how much of it is overblown by the fans in the coming days and weeks.

I expect nothing from the Times, News and Post who again did not even bother covering the Isles. At best we see a Larry Brooks cheapshot or two.

Islanders website: Had more on Monday's lottery with Garth Snow's comments.

NYI Fan Central Comments:
At this point I want to see the general manager talk to his teams fans about the season and give us his thoughts on what went wrong. The owner went on television, the coach has had to talk daily after some tough nights, it's time for a few words from the general manager.
