THN.com: Jordan Samery reports the NHL lottery will be held this coming Monday, April 7th at 8pm live in studio with NHL deputy-commissioner Bill Daly revealing the results live on-air. This is the first time the draft lottery has been aired live on television since the 'Crosby Draft' of 2005 and for only the second time in 13 years.

TSN will be dedicating a half-hour to the draft lottery at 8 p.m. The lottery will also be simulcast live on the TSN.ca, NHL Network, NHL.com and Versus in the U.S.

The bottom 14 (non-playoff) teams in the NHL will be eligible for the lottery, where odds are weighted by least amount of regular season points.

The winning lottery team can move up no more than four spots in the draft and no team can move back more than one.

NYI Fan Central Comments:
I'm glad the NHL is doing this on live television for the fans. I hope it remains the policy for good because it's an event and has a little drama from just issuing a quick release. I'm also thrilled were not being forced to watch a game to view a lottery.

Will be a lot of fun if the Isles finish in the bottom five which seems likely with St Louis and Columbus having head to head games before the season ends and someone having to win.
