Ct Post: Michael Fornabaio reports in his Sound Tigers blog Mitch Fritz was recalled to the Islanders.

Mark Parrish practiced on a line with Jesse Joensuu and Rob Hennigar.

Espn.com: Scott Burnside has an early season profile of the Philadelphia Flyers who have now won three games in a row after a 7-0 win against Atlanta on Tuesday.

NYI Fan Central Comments:
Flyers picking up where they left off last regular season, either they are in a free fall or dominating, seems to be no middle ground.

Espn: EJ Hradek points out Doug Weight has been on both ends of some hits in his career that have been a bit over the line but in this case he saw nothing out of bounds with Weight's hit and blamed Sutter for having his head down.

NYI Fan Central Comments:
I can respect the Hurricanes general manager's comments along with Devils coach Brent Sutter about his son but there is nothing that can be done to regulate a player who puts his head down from taking a hit. This was not as if Weight jumped into him or even raised his arms or used his stick. It was a clear shoulder hit almost by textbook definition and a play Weight has to make.

To regulate this out of the game completely would be the equivalent of trying to eliminate knee on knee hits.
