Islanders website: Previews Saturday's game against the Florida Panthers.

Branislav Mezei is currently playing in the KHL, Isles need to fix that on it's pregame.

Newsday: Greg Logan's blog update points to the Tampa game as being a start for Frans Nielsen and Jeff Tambellini as Nielsen felt continuing to get a chance even after a mistake is important while Trent Hunter talks about what he tries to do to help the presure on his young linemates along with how their speed and skill help his game.

NYI Fan Central Comments:
Excellent update by Mr Logan here and more of what our fans should be reading more about.

Tambellini for what it was worth was getting his best chances as a left wing rushing down the right side.

For those who play hockey if you are a left handed shot on the right wing you have more net to shoot at when the puck is on the forehand, Tambellini just took off from his own end and let his shot go at the face off dot.

I think to date Nielsen has been the best of the young players.

Newsday: Mr Logan's second Newsday blog update reports Mitch Fritz will be a healthy scratch again as head coach Scott Gordon would not name a starting goaltender where Rick DiPietro said it was a gametime decision.

The head coach also had a few words on Sean Bergenheim's turnovers, Kyle Okposo had a few comments after Scott Gordon spoke with him along with the Islander head coach
also talking about Jeff Tambellini's play.

NYI Fan Central Comments:
A lot of strange games in Florida over several seasons for the Islanders, the Panthers swept last year's season series but we have seen games the Panthers just run right over the Isles when they travel there or just shut them down.

Another game to survive with Radek Martinek which is almost as big a hit as DiPietro and cannot be written enough.

Palm Beach Post: George Richards reports Tomas Vokoun will be in goal for the Panthers.

Bryan McCabe is still out, Florida has done a remake of it's defense and has some good young options in David Booth among several players.

On the Islanders side they need to settle the situation with Bergenheim because he looks out of sync with the players he is paired with. He seems a good fit with Okposo and Comrie in the middle.

Of course when teams win coaches keep the same lineup.
