Islanders website: Has the preview for today's game against the Buffalo Sabres.
NYI Fan Central Comments:
Former Islander Tim Connolly is out with an injury for this game with the Sabres coming in off a 2-1 shootout win against Montreal here.
Since the lockout ended this second home game has not exactly been friendly to the Islanders. Usually the club seems to come out flat after the opener and a little mini-test to see if things are a little different under a new coach. Of course Islanders usually have a lot more road games played by the time they come home.
I remember the Washington game last year where they outplayed the Caps
but lost a close game along with the Post making a big issue of a thousand people or so not being at a game that was an announced sellout that Mr Botta was not happy about. One Florida game a few years ago they could not get out of their own way.
Injuries? Wake me when they take the ice, no pregame but an actual postgame. Funny the Isles put up a live link for postgame coverage for the folks who wanted to hear from Gordon and the players, not the Msg spindoctors with Butch Goring.
Like ITV who did the Monday pregame on Saturday night (who can blame them with hard how they have been working with these updates) this blog was a little prescheduled.
Not sure if I can catch this one live Monday. I'm going to target a game for a live blog here and I'm thinking the Tampa or Dallas game.
