I will add in Newsday coverage if there is any today to this entry later, Newspaper in my neighborhood had no coverage this morning.

NYI Fan Central Comments:

I suspect there may have been an internal problem at the paper, usually Newsday does a great job getting our articles early. No hockey team received print coverage.

Updated:
Newsday: John Jeansonne beyond reporting on the injuries had a few words on the rivalry with the Rangers. Head coach Scott Gordon, Mike Comrie and Bill Guerin comment.

NY Post: Dan Martin's article has comments from head coach Scott Gordon on a shift in philosophy to let the younger players run with things now vs the veterans given the teams record. Bill Guerin talks about how it's frustrating but he understands making it clear it's not his choice.

Mr Martin also mentions Doug Weight has already expressed displeasure about the possibility of having a reduced role.

NYI Fan Central Comments:

I did not see the word " we " in there from Bill Guerin. A few times in the past he talked about the prospects having to pull their own weight, now they have to pull a little more.

Of course all Guerin needs to do is take a look around and ask what veterans are left in the lineup with Sillinger and Weight now out? Guerin's been entrusted with Bailey and Tambellini on his line and no right wing prospects have been recalled so how does this effect his role at present?

If Nielsen returns with Bailey down the middle, Weight, Comrie and Park with Thompson will struggle for minutes.

Daily News: Peter Botte did a Ranger centric article and started with the two hundred sixty plus man game injuries by the Islanders to the Rangers single digit number.

NYI Fan Central Comments:
Mr Botte amended his earlier entry on the Islanders winning at Msg on 12/29 so in this instance we will be fair and delete our earlier commentary because it's extremely rare we see such a mistake on his part.

Ct Post: Michael Fornabaio's article is on Ben Walter who has points in twenty one of twenty three games. Head coach Jack Capuano praised his play specifically in the defensive zone.

Ct Post: Mr Fornabaio also has the Sound Tigers weekly which among several items includes the upcoming games and some questions for Kurtis McLean.
