Newsday: Greg Logan recaps Islanders 1-0 loss to Pittsburgh which at this time only had head coach Scott Gordon's pre-game comments.

Post Gazette: Shelly Anderson's coverage & Dave Molinary's article here while Gene Collier felt the hockey from both teams were terrible and showed the Pens are not a playoff team here.

Tribue Review: Tricia Lafferty coverage of the Penguins win against the Islanders.

Sorry, too lazy/indifferent/non-hockey to be bothered with commentary on former Islander executives Stephen Walsh and Paul Greenwood arrested with so much Lighthouse News here which Newsday also had an article on here that Greg Logan even contributed to in some manner from Pittsburgh.

NYI Fan Central Comments:
If it was a quiet day, I may have more like the former Islander part owner buying the Miami Dolphins earlier this year. Some of the same reasons why I avoided the non-hockey items on the Montreal Canadians this week.

The Newsday article claims Walsh and Greenwood were bought out by Charles Wang when he acquired the team which would mean they were on the books into the Milstein-Gluckstern tenure which is somewhat questionable being that they bought their small percentage under John Pickett.

AHL.com: Recaps Bridgeport's 3-2 shootout loss against Albany at Harbor Yard Wednesday.

Scoring
2. ALB Sutter, (1) (Babin), 4:17
2. ALB Samson, (15) (Weston, Olson), 8:41

Nate Lawson started in goal with twenty six saves.

Ct Post: Michael Fornabaio's game coverage with head coach Jack Capuano and blog entries here.

Daily Gazette: Phil Janack covers the River Rats.

NYI Fan Central Comments:

Other than Bridgeport rallying for a point with a shorthanded goal the best story is Albany got back to playing some hockey games.
