Islanders website announced today that they have acquired Lubomir Visnovsky from the
Anaheim Ducks, in exchange for the team’s second round selection in the
2013 National Hockey League Draft.

Obviously a boom or bust pick for an aging defender, with a high contract/cap hit. His 2011-12 season not very good, his 2010-11 season outstanding. You look at what the Devils gave up for Zidliclk from Minnesota (Washington’s second round pick at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Nick Palmieri, Stephane Veilleux, d-man Kurtis Foster, and a conditional 3rd round draft pick in 2013) this seems like Snow did very well on paper.
On paper Snow landed a top four defender with offensive ability.
Bottom line it comes down to what happens on the ice.
