New York vs Buffalo: Trotz comments/Covid & Recalls

The math says it all.

And the beat goes on. Bridgeport also has eight players out.

More Covid For New York/Lamoriello

Monday Cancelled by NHL-12/29 vs Detroit next stop

New York will not be traveling to Buffalo for a game on 12/27, their next scheduled game will on 12/29 in New York vs the Red Wings, with 12/27 to be made up at a later date.

Merry Christmas

No Olympics

NYIFC Comments:
Expect a lot of makeup games for New York that likely will be meaningless unless so many games are cancelled they need another play in tournament.

NHL/New York Shutdown Again

NYIFC Comments:
The failed Belmont experiment not being ready took a big bite of a bad team, road trip or no road trip, then Belmont management wanted those paydays (and likely our tenant owners) so those games were not cancelled. Now we have a team so far out of any realistic contention (for just one seed) it really does not matter, unless the NHL changes it's playoff format again later on. I do not see Olympic games and a different schedule for February with many of these cancelled games in those three weeks.

New York's next scheduled game is 12/27/21 in Buffalo.

Reality Check For New York

Golyshev speaks out/losing continues

NYIFC Comments:
It's disappointing he did not get a chance here because he was scoring early in Bridgeport, and looked too good for that league. Trotz made clear other players in practice looked better then him so the same journeyman played ahead of him, even with the team in free fall before and after Covid. My comments on twitter speak to where I sit with the team on the ice, and what I wrote during the 56 games/last summer for two months. Sadly, I was correct.

Anatolii Golyshev Returning to KHL (cleared NHL waivers)

But we got to see Parise score no goals for close to 20 games, same for Palmieri, same for Pageau until the last two games, and of course we got to see Bellows barely play so a lot of AHL/NHL journeyman at best could be in the lineup.

New York Returns Thursday vs San Jose

NYIFC Comments:
No way the Sharks were coming back here again, or was the NHL going to lose another early UBS payday before attendance/secondary market start dropping. For players in hibernation one practice is not enough for only a few players whether they were sick or not.
And even healthy there is no hiding this teams issues which 13 road games made very clear which the standings proved out.
