New York Claims Boqvist/George to Bridgeport

24 year old RD will slot a spot who has only played five games all season for Florida. George is a LD like defender from Blues they just claimed so he should slot in there. Cholowski is still here, with Hutton, George and Bolduc in Bridgeport.
For a while the blown ends have stopped, the pk has slightly improved and no doubt the 220 fewer shots allowed is still improving vs last season.

The Math Says No Playoffs

More IR/Trade:

For those scoring at home Pulock is a RD, same as Dobson. Hutton or flipping Cholowski from side to side is the alternative. Bolduc was a LD here last season. Aho played both sides but is in AHL in Pittsburgh. And most importantly despite forward issues on D/PK the shots are down over two hundred but so is the scoring with Dobson's falloff.

Perunovich is 26 but he is a LD for a team with a RD problem, he is an NHL regular despite his benchings/scratches.

Why? Numbers Don't Lie

No, I did not put Martin/Fasching in there. But you put this with the worst pk in generations (despite recent uptick) and this is why.

DeAngelo Returns To New York

Clearly Dobson's week to week injury means a RD is needed unless Hutton was recalled. George, Bolduc, Cholowski are all left D. Mayfield, Dobson, Pulock are the other RD. Most do not play both sides. Reilly may or may not return so it's not an awful decision but odd for a team this does not carry players with his baggage.

#NYC #NYI #Isles D'Angelo has to clear waivers tomorrow to play in the future in NYC.

Trades For New York? Skeptical...Dobson Out...

I don't want to hear they can't win 5/7 without Palmieri who has two goals in twenty three games or Pageau who as usual lost his man shorthanded on the NHL's worst pk by a mile despite the team allowing 220+ fewer shots at 41 game mark. No one would take Cizikas who is useless with his term. Fasching became the next Mark Lawrence despite the injuries. Martin should flat out retire. Despite working the prospect site updates, I did not include Gatcomb for some reason. My mistake there.

Brent Sutter NYI HOF

The historical site now has NYI HOF/Ring of Honor/Sutter ceremony fully updated. Leiweke, Stone, Collins sprung for some blue paint to cover the fire control on the wall.

41 Game Numbers Shocking

So they allowed 220 less shots, and have nine fewer points in the standings at a time, Lane Lambert, was about to lose his job. Now Lamoriello expressed his full support in his roster yesterday?

#NYC #NYI #isles Such an odd mess in numbers they have eight less goals scored, seven less on powerplay, and as awful as penalty kill is historically it's cut goals shorthanded by two. Bottom line they have lost more close games and a few they lost in regulation.

Lamoriello Speaks From Vegas:

Semyon Varlamov (lower body, IR) has resumed skating and is taking shots, per Lamoriello. Varlamov has been out since Nov. 29 and Lamoriello said the netminder “should be” practicing with the team when they return from their current road trip. The 36-year-old is 3-4-3 this season with a 2.89 GAA and an .889 SV%. Ilya Sorokin has started 15 of the Islanders’ last 16 games with Varlamov out. Lamoriello said he was hopeful that Simon Holmstrom (IR, upper body) and rookie defenseman Isaiah George (day-to-day, upper body) could return to practice in about a week. Holmstrom has been out since Dec. 29 in Pittsburgh, while George has been out since Jan. 2 after taking a high hit against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Hudson Fasching (day-to-day, upper body) is expected to be out for “a couple weeks." Fasching suffered his injury on Sunday in Boston. Lamoriello said there was no definitive timetable for Mike Reilly’s return. The defenseman was injured on Nov. 1 in Buffalo and underwent a heart procedure on Nov. 19, which is the source of his long-term absence. Reilly is skating, but is not cleared for contact. Lamoriello said the expectation is still for Reilly to return this season.

Still beileves in his team, no trades expected.
