Changes To New York Business Directory/Prospect Updates
Did not put earlier changes to business directory for the training staff. Today brought some interesting changes/new people that were notable enough to post the list. Most contracts expire at the end of a given month depending what they do. The off-season is not the off-season for some jobs. Anyway here is the updated list.
Prokhorov signing in the KHL takes him off the teams radar for at least the next two years. No transfer agreement with KHL-Russia/he will not be going to the OHL where he was selected in the import draft.
The prospect site is updated with all contract expiration dates. All prospects regardless of age are now listed. No NHL players are listed IE:Gatcomb. Only players signed by the New York Islanders are listed.
Luca Romano must be signed by 5/31/27, he is playing for Kitchener in preseason.
Kelly Keogh is now listed as manager of hockey operations.

This means he's signed and it's not announced, or he's not signed and headed to camp anyway.
New York Notables
Mostly a quiet time as players likely here skating on their own or coming here for camp.
No offense to players, don't care if nice guys or not, it's about winning. I'm sure Hudson Fasching is a nice man, he did not help NYI win=goodbye.
The decisions about the team are largely made unless Darche receives an offer he thinks improves the team. Could happen/likeky not. Most former teams for players know when it's time to move a player, and mostly turn out to be correct. Yes, I'm writing about Jonathan Drouin. Yes, Anthony Duclair. We'll see when he's healthy but all those other teams hardly regret moving on from him. Yes, I was thrilled they got him, felt other teams were wrong.
Do I think Roy is a major problem, and just a medicore coach at best? Yes. I don't like going 0-4 against awful Rangers, and losing 9-2 to a franchise NYI owned for years with so-called worse coaches. Barry Trotz got fired with a better record than Roy. Do I think he was retained because he had about three years left on his contract? Absolutely.
So Lou wanted to re-sign Boqvist, who Roy never played, and was terrible when he did play. Darche said he's not a micromanager, and will let Roy pick his lineup. So why will Boqvist dress this season unless injuries?
I want this team at Barclays because 13,650 attendance in 2015-16 tied outdrew 22/25 Nassau seasons from 1989-2015 where they had 28 weeknight games won a playoff series in NYC where more people live. The LI based fan bloggers got their wish, a return to Nassau in 2018-19-20-21, it was empty with a first place team in March 2019, then 10k/less with a 16 game unbeaten streak that began in October 2019.
Did Barclay's kick them out? No, they did not want to pay them or run their business anymore, big difference. I think the attendance goes up 4x if they stay, and things get renovated like everywhere. No one wants to pay Knicks prices for Knicks hockey as the throw-away event. NYI are the NYC Blue-Collar Blueshirts, somewhat cheaper prices could care less if fans sat on the floor at Barc, the right location with right transit access is where NYI belong. Not Long Island which retired from attending hockey games after 1988.
Leiweke's Oakview is gone, the company remains, they are the Smg of this generation without Flyers owner Ed Snider gobbling up revenue. Leiweke's former company runs Bridgeport/Hamilton, Belmont, he's facing prison, and a big fine. He had money like Brett Yormark had money working for other rich people, not enough to own anything. Silverlake bailed out Oakview when Dolan supposedly gave up his stake in the company his money founded.
Yes, I passed the failed Belmont experiment last week on LIRR, it took an hour for a train at Jamaica station, east to one of the many stops labeled Glen so I have no clue where this thirty minutes from Penn Station comes from to Elmont as the train went past it without stopping.
Where does this team finish? 2nd to 14th what I write most every year, including summer 2018.
I was born here too like Scott Malkin, can't argue his attendance figure in UK for Value Retail which Collins said was 45k, 50k, 55k for a weekend when he went there. The current Value Retail still opening? If they get 500 people a day walking through that's about it. Don't see it working here, never did. He better be flying in 49k from China to get that number. Nice looking, bad location, just like arena.
Drafted prospect, Luca Romano, remains unsigned in Kitchener/anywhere, his teams preseason games begin 8/29 so he needs a deal now there or somewhere else.
John Collins Is An Idiot....
This man is clueless, and lies a lot. And I don't start my entries that way but this time it's earned.
Islanders’ co-owner and COO John Collins on the team, Lou Lamoriello and Outdoor Games.

#NYC #NYI #isles John Collins is an idiot, who clearly shows why NHL threw him out the door. Give him back his investment, and call Joe Tasi so we can come back home. Sure avoided Leiweke's arrest/resignation and Bridgeport's future. Without NYC fans/no NYI.

#NYC #NYI #isles Collins sounds like he went to a bar before he ran his mouth, and made a fool of himself, and he hired Darche? Major red flags today. Malkin should be furious.

#NYC #NYI #isles Not even John Spano with no money sounded as dumb as Collins today, this is horrendous.

#NYC #NYI #isles I'm glad Schaefer is signed but this was going to happen wherever he plays in 25-26. What we want is Isiah George in his natural position with Romanov-Pelech-Schaefer as LD They are loaded at RD with #6-24-34-4. George does not belong in AHL anymore. Bolduc LD.
