Islanders had an interesting survey today that I filled out for them that was available from Islanders insider.
Tsn.ca: Darren Dreger announced Chris Simon's hearing lasted thirty minutes Tuesday and did an informal poll among the players as to how long he should be suspended with the lowest being five games and the highest being fifty or more games, a decision will be announced Wednesday.
National Post: Mark Spector has an article with reaction from Bill Guerin, Sheldon Souray, Jeff Halpern and Marty Reasoner on Chris Simon.
"First of all, he's a good guy. A good person," Guerin said. "This guy is a part of our family - that's just the way it is. The thing that stinks is, Chris Simon has done way more positive in this game than he has negative."
"He went through a couple of years there in Washington where [the shoulders] were really bad, and he still tried to do the best he could with it." Guerin said. "He's done that job as well as anybody ever has, and he's a great teammate. It's never about himself; always about doing things for the team and defending his teammates."
THN.com: Adam Proteau who needs no excuse to write something negative about the Islanders wants the book thrown at Chris Simon and is far from alone in media circles with this perspective.
Buffalo News: Mike Harrington reports the Sabres are going to get back defenseman Dmitri Kalinin, who has been out for 23 games for Wednesday's game.
Ct Post: Michael Fornabaio's blog cleared up any misconceptions about Jeff Tambellini missing the media after Sunday's game and reported Keith Johnson was called up to replace Blake Comeau.
