Most of these articles were posted after the game Saturday so in effect even after a day game it will be the Sunday articles in the newspapers.

Newsday: Greg Logan has the recap of the Islanders loss to the Devils with Bill Guerin saying he wants the club to be a buyer but it's up to the general manager, that his team is in no position to take night's off as he went into detail about the mistakes made and how they approached a five on three power play against the Devils experience. Aaron Johnson talks about what he calls a misread on Zach Parise's goal and how the club played in the third period.

Newsday: Greg Logan has Ted Nolan's comments on Mike Sillinger's season ending surgery, Josef Vasicek said he has heard nothing about his contract status, Ruslan Fedotenko said he has no good or bad news, and no information at all. Miroslav Satan has not been asked to waive his no trade clause at this time.

NYI Fan Central Comments:
It should be noted Newsday changes it's ap link to the writers actual game article as it's updated later on.

Newsday: Mark Herrmann has a feature on the core of the four weekend coming up March 1st/2nd with Mike Bossy & Butch Goring's comments. Mr Herrmann speculates the organization has hinted that this is the end of the major celebrations.

NYI Fan Central Comments:
Seems to me that banner with Bob Bourne's name on it deserves a lot more company in the Islanders announced plans for a Hall of Fame last season.

All of the players part of that core of four who do not have their numbers officially retired should have their night as Bourne did.

Mr Wang's done far more than his part and made up for other owners mistakes, unfortunately there is more to do in that department and it needs to be done because it's the right thing to do. Cannot have Bob Bourne's name on a banner with the retired jersey's and not include the other players who's numbers are not retired.

How many times is Mark Hermann going to make sure to point out past alumni felt they were brought out as props and sent packing? Enough is enough. Let the players have their day and please ask some more hockey questions to these legendary players.

There is no way Mr Herrmann would go in that direction with Ed Giaconmin or Rod Gilbert.

NY Times: Dave Caldwell was allowed to cover the game from both sides which has Bill Guerin's comments on the Isles.

Newark Star Ledger & Bergen Record: Beat writer Tom Gulitti's blog also recaps the Devils win here.

Edmonton Journal: Jim Matheson has Garth Snow's comments on Mike Comrie that he looked for sixty points and is on pace for sixty points, who credited his grit and how he's helped the young players but is not sure he's a number one center but it depends on his own criteria.

Star Tribune: Michael Russo has former Islander Mark Parrish and his comments on how being traded for Roberto Luongo was not easy for him and what he was told by Panthers management beforehand.

Calgary Herald: George Johnson has a nice feature on Isles VP of communications Chris Botta.

Ct Post: Michael Fornabaio's article is about the two fluke goals Hartford got and a disallowed goal that hit off Matt Keith's chest that was disallowed with Joey MacDonald and Jack Capuano's comments on the game.

Hartford Courant: Bruce Berlet's coverage of the Wolfpack.

Albany Times Union: Report Brandon Nolan wanted to play Saturday but the coach would not allow it, Ted Nolan was in attendance and apparently made the trip after the Devils game in Newark.
