Pieri Memorial Award for American Hockey League coach of the year. In his fifth season as head coach, Gordon led the Bruins to a league-best 53-16-3-4 record.
Boston Globe: Fluto Shinzawa reports on Scott Gordon working with the Bruins prospects at their camp this week.
NYI Fan Central Comments:
I do recall he was down to the wire for the Bruins job last summer before Claude Julien was hired by Peter Chiarelli, at the time some speculated Chiarelli needed a friend given the Bruins upper management problems off a tough season but given the on ice results the right selection was made as Julien did an outstanding job.
For those wondering Scott Gordon is a former goaltender also from Boston for some connections to Garth Snow, Peter Laviolette and Mike Milbury. Given he is under contract the Bruins could stand in the way of hiring him.
