Amazing the Devils have had several games on Msg this year and the Islanders none.

NYI Fan Central Comments:
Crosby is out for tonight's game against the Islanders. Ryan Whitney also won't play against the Islanders after leaving the team for personal reasons. Whitney is expected to rejoin the Penguins in Chicago according to AP.

Pittsburgh under Dan Bylsma continues to play inconsistent hockey but they can score goals with a 5-4 win/loss before dropping a 5-2 game against Washington on Sunday which was their last game. This is final home game before the trade deadline and frankly it's two points they badly need given their upcoming games and the standings.

No, it's not must-win desperation for Pittsburgh, any winning streak places them in the top eight but they need it soon. These are two points I would place in the must have spot if I were projecting out standings for Pittsburgh to start such a streak.

Gonchar has enough games now where he's getting out of camp mode.

Islanders to this point in the season cannot win high scoring games with any regularity, those four goals against the Devils is one shy of their season high which they accomplished once against a goaltender (not open net) all season. That 5-4 win in Atlanta was the game recently.

No point guessing on Scott Gordon's goaltender, time off says MacDonald but Danis comes in off a shutout. If they keep giving up the chances they did to the Devils it will cost them. Islanders have Toronto on Thursday.

Seems no new injuries or players returning for now so the injury count stands at eight per game.

No NHL depth left on defense with Campoli gone and Pock, Meyer out. You start getting deep into AHL territory if another defender is hurt or traded.

We all know what happened last time Islanders visited Pittsburgh but that was a long while ago, both teams have made some significant changes.

Just want to see more goals like Okposo's against the Devils and the moves Bergenheim, Streit made to score or create plays from more players. Jon Sim keeps working hard beyond his goals.

I want to see a more active Josh Bailey, Tambellini and Comeau finish a few goals with Nielsen, not just set them up.

Time one of those posts for Gervais goes in the net.
