Columbus Blue Jackets trade picks # 16, 77 to New York Islanders for picks 26, 37, 62 and 94, than traded that pick with 77-121 to Minnesota for 12th overall.

THE SKINNY
In 2008-09, de Haan finished second among OHL rookie defensemen, and first among all Oshawa blueliners, with 63 points (8-55-63) in 68 games. For his efforts, de Haan was named the Generals’ Rookie of the Year and Top Defenseman. He also competed in the OHL All-Star Classic and 2009 CHL Top Prospects Game.

The Ontario native recorded 42 points (3-39-42) for Kemptville during the 2007-08 season, earning Central Junior Hockey League Player of the Year honors.
