Milestones/Showcases/.500 Team Going Nowhere

Not a lot to write, they are what the record is, and what the standings say the 2021-22 New York Islanders are. Not a playoff team or close.

Chara came here at a bad time, was a nice prospect but hardly a standout at the time of his trade, and returns old/slow, and easily beatable, nice milestone, not the answer. The team at this time is giving Greene a well-needed benching to play Aho, when Salo should be here in Chara's spot.

Don't care Parise had a moderate uptick in his numbers, his age, struggles, and his stats say it all, same as Palmieri. Lamoriello should be moving almost everyone he can off this roster now short of Sorokin, Barzal, Pelech, Dobson. I'm even taking calls on Nelson, Lee, and Pullock if they brings speed/skill needed. If they go with the same aging core this franchise could be bad for a long, long time. Can they salvage something in moving Pageau, Cizikas, Bailey, Martin, Varlamov, Palmieri as fast as possible with all the pending UFA? The answers are not in Bridgeport, and Walhstrom/Bellows do not see enough ice despite having skills needed. Beauviller's scoring has always been the difference between wins/losses, he's not scoring, and somehow this team became the Devils in shootouts/overtime which they used to dominate in.

The lack of practices/days off (nothing new for this franchise at the end of seasons), will likely lead to more losing/free fall in standings, they don't seem to have any options beyond Salo to call up, and don't seem interested in Dal Colle playing here anymore. Skarek had a good month, then disappeared & Schneider got the call to sit on the bench. Does Lamoriello & Trotz want to stay for a rebuilt, no one's signing up for Belmont at that isolated location, the money is not there to sustain this payroll & years of living miles above their revenue since Barclay's
