#NYI #isles This stretch until 12/23 will tell us the story, they either stay in contention & move up the standings toward 10 over 500, or the bubble breaks and under 500 they go which is the expectation unless they get the scoring needed to survive.

If you are counting on Parise, Hudson Fasching, or more goals like Martin was gifted with against Hawks, book your draft party early. It's not going to happen. As expected unless Lee/Nelson are scoring this team is not winning. Mayfield had two bad turnovers, Sorokin had a rare soft goal. Bailey fell asleep as Blues forward went to net, went down via Romanov, and Bailey was slow to get to net on a great second effort rebound with Romanov still on him. No wonder Bailey flew up the ice to set up Parise to fend off another healthy scratch.
Pelech looked like head/neck, not legs, we'll see. No hiding from Devils, Blues, Canes, at Colorado. Bottom line feels like 2017-18 when team eight over fell back to 500 because scoring dried up and they could not win 6-5, 5-4 anymore. This is different in that they need ugly 3-1, 2-1, 1-0 games and that regulation loss number is just not going to get it done, losing in overtime/shootouts are points.
