This was not a good effort against the only winless team in the NHL. The players said it afterward, and the way they played over the first forty five minutes, said it all. San Jose came in angry, and working, they badly outplayed New York. Still bad teams find ways to lose, and New York started picking it up. Again Heineman works for a goal, Schaefer keeps making big plays, Holmstrom made plays, Lee was great at the end. Got two points, found a way.
