Too much fluff for me, I'll stick to the hockey part. Ok, this team was fifteen games over .500 in a solid playoff spot for most of the season, the very ugly/not our best wins, two goals or fewer in 1/2 the games, the powerplay improvement which got them to only 30th overall, the games they got to overtime where they went 10-0. This was as unconventional as it get's. Then Schenn trade happens and after game one vs Blues, they never got another game to overtime for the remainder of the season where they still finished with 91 points, enough to qualify the previous two years. It was not a save or two more despite Senators game, it was the flat out bubble breaking vs Pens/Flyers combined with not having a real home at Belmont or customers who can't afford 10/12 games there because it's an unfit location. Sorokin wants to say he was tired? Ok, he got a three week break to go with that 82 game condensed schedule to be refreshed, and as players often used to say everyone's hurt by the end of the season, and he acknowledged other goalies, and feels he must be better trained by a team that game him his goalie coach to immediate dividens. This team has two full time newspaper beatwriters, Sorokin rarely speaks, he's not going to make headlines which is what you want along with playing at his current level. Shabanov got a very fair chance, Tsyplakov was not given a fair chance from day one.
#NYC #NYI #isles I found Sorokin's comments odd and disconcerting. They were 15 games over .500 & there were few close games at the end. Ottawa popped their getting to ot bubble for season, but Flyers, Pens broke them with ugly losses that showed up issues, not media coverage.
