It's nice they came back, and won a skills competition against the struggling Devils, but we have to be honest here after half a season with an ownership that can't wait to be the Dolan's tenant back in front of 8,000 fans in a few years unless Barclay's does not opt out of it's lease by 1/30/18.
But that's for another day or tomorrow if no opt out has been given or leaked yet.
It's time for a new gm, and an experienced head coach to teach a system to these players, even if it means John Tavares/Josh Bailey leave.

Mixed feelings on this.
Value is fine, but Leddy, Boychuk, Pelech, & are signed long term already, and Pulock has years before UFA. Mayfield was put on NHL waivers by NYI & cleared so they were set to let another team claim him. Plus there is Toews/Aho on ELC, and they need some veterans on that defense to do what Seidenberg did last season when used properly.

If someone told me Bailey was a top five player, Lee was on his way to forty goals, Eberle, Ladd were scoring & Tavares was getting his numbers, plus Barzal was dominating, I would write they would be close to 15 over, well on their way to a playoff spot.
Instead they are the 2nd wildcard team, in a division where all eight teams could make the playoffs. So here's the big question.
Given goals/chances allowed even before deHaan's injury, just don't see it happening if was honestly asked on this day, something has to click on defense that has rarely happened this season.
