New York vs Phoenix live game scoresheet

Phoenix has games Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday so tonight's game will most likely be played or rescheduled later this season.

NYI Fan Central Comments:
First visit to the Nassau Coliseum since October 2002, that's a long time even in this league. I still remember what happened opening night last year and hopefully a few players left from that team do also.

Phoenix was resting in New York yesterday while the Islanders travel home to what no doubt will be a small crowd given the weather today/tonight.

The Coyotes (13-15) Radim Vrbata leads their team with eleven goals, Shane Doan is putting up some points, Ed Jovanowski has has many points as Mike Comrie. Ilya Bryzgalov has started eleven games in a row and has done a solid job since the trade from Anaheim.

Islanders better come out angry and work hard in this game because they have to start to turn this around now with any win they can get. Not sure who will be the scratch on defense or if Fedntenko/Martinek return. After another forty shot game does Dubie get the start or will that be the latest excuse for mistakes by the club tonight?

All the discussion about why these players added character have to start paying off or it's time for changes. No doubt some players are worried a mistake will land them on the bench which usually leads to more mistakes.

Updated 6pm:
Islanders Website: Reports Tim Jackman has been called up and Jeff Tambellini has been sent back to Bridgeport. Ruslan Fedotenko will return to the lineup.

“Tim is someone who can give us quality shifts and an honest effort,” said Nolan at the team’s morning skate today at the Nassau Coliseum. “Jeff didn’t do anything wrong, but he needs to be on a top line be effective. And with Ruslan coming back, we felt it would be best for Jeff to get those consistent minutes in Bridgeport for his development.”

NYI Fan Central Comments:
Given Ted Nolan's comments after the Sabre game and his actions it's clear the coach did not think Jeff Tambellini did much right. A team desperately needing scoring has just exchanged a potential scorer for grit on the fourth line.
