Islanders website/Adam Scharff and Chris Musto: Has the recap of tonight's 2-1 overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils.

NYI Fan Central Comments:
Not much to write about this one.

MacDonald was outstanding and very sharp on his skates as he came out to challenge and played the angles well and did a great job controlling his rebounds. Isles generated very few quality chances but kept New Jersey to the angles. Guerin's dive to get the puck to Vasicek for his goal was just a fantastic play. Brodeur barely saw a quality shot with the Isles usually one play short when they did set up a good cycle in the offensive zone which either came from Park, Okposo, Comeau or Guerin, Vasicek.

Madden almost ate Berard alive on a rare Isles powerplay which was the worst moment of the game.

Devils did everything but score in the first on the powrerplay, Meyer look like he robbed a Devil on an open net. Elias finally got a puck through for a goal on an Okposo penalty.

Devils simply could not finish one, neither could the Isles. Overtime came and went quickly with a tip and Parise doing what he does best, making the play to decide the game.

No one looked terrible among the callups, many did a solid job defensively which is half the battle with no glaring mistakes, scoring is the other half.

Isles have given up a hundred shots the last two games and have two overtime points, if only this happened more earlier?

Full marks to MacDonald, if he was not outstanding it could have easily been a 6-1 game.

Atlanta lost in regulation.
St. Louis gave up a 3-0 lead to Nashville and lost in overtime 4-3 so Isles stay even with them for lottery position.
