Newsday: Greg Logan's recap has comments from Doug Weight on the Islanders powerplay failure and head coach Scott Gordon on Josh Bailey's game which included winning a lot of face offs and the coaches comments " He belongs " in his postgame.
NY Post: Dan Martin had comments from Josh Bailey, Doug Weight and head coach Scott Gordon who asked if the Islanders could be moved in the future.
NYI Fan Central Comments:
Maybe the Post writers should ask if the Rangers will move considering Msg is older than the Nassau Coliseum and just as outdated?
Daily News: Brian Bohl had more from Weight and Bailey.
Newsday: Arthur Staple in his feature on Josh Bailey suggest Tambellini should be waived (among several options including Comrie benched) if it means a spot for the young prospect.
NYI Fan Central Comments:
Good think Mr Staple is not a gm waiving a former first round draft pick at age twenty four in Tambellini who is getting his first full time opportunity in less than twenty games. These are the same kind of writers who used to rip Milbury for implusive moves?
Newsday: Neil Best reported the Islanders will now be receiving pre-game shows from Msg-Cablevision for the rest of the season starting Saturday.
NYI Fan Central Comments:
Would it be mean-spirited of me to suggest as soon as Cablevision owned Newsday finally got some more details on Islander injuries Cablevision owned Newsday finally
decided to allow a pregame?
Or did Newsday's staff figure out most of the clubs in this league follow the same practice without an assault from the local paper and the entire staff?
I guess getting back to where things were last season is their idea of enhanced coverage to go with those wonderful high school sports reports that have no place in a hockey broadcast on weekends?
Philly Burbs has coverage from Wayne Fish along with Courier Post Times Chuck Gormley's coverage & a possible Brendan Shanahan signing by tomorrow here.
NYI Fan Central Comments:
Right about now Garth Snow should be making an offer to give these players a boost.
All due respect to Park, Jackman, Hilbert or Thompson but this club needs an NHL shot badly and right now. My guess is Shanahan would love to stay in New York and play for the Islanders and it's not too early to look for a replacement veteran for Guerin-Weight-Sillinger heading into next summer.
Philadelphia Inquirer & Daily News: Had the combined Flyers recap.
Ct Post Michael Fornabaio had a game article from afar without quotes and a preview of Wednesday's game here.
WHEN -- Today, 5:30 p.m.
WHERE -- Mile One Centre, St. John's, Newfoundland
ON THE AIR -- No radio; Webcast and Internet pay-per-view at www.soundtigers.com
RECORDS -- Binghamton 7-3-1-1; Bridgeport 10-3-0-2
SEASON SERIES -- Bridgeport leads 2-1
LAST MEETING -- The Senators won 4-3 in a shootout Tuesday at Summerside, Prince Edward Island.
NYI Fan Central Comments:
So for those scoring at home the Ct Post/Mr Fornabaio did a full article for the paper of a game he was not at but the Post, Times, News cannot write articles or blog about the Islanders road games in those publications?
Makes me wonder what is the minor league publication considering the Times blog was more interested in a Zigmund Palffy hat-trick than covering today's Islander game?
Press & Sun-Bulletin has the Binghampton Senators coverage.
