I'm not sure what Garth Snow-Scott Gordon will decide to do with Josh Bailey after Friday's game but the vote is in and what was a deadlock a few days ago is now a rout in favor of him staying with the NHL club.
I voted for him to stay because he did not look out of place with the speed at this level.
I also think Nielsen's injury opened a spot for a young center and he will stay but that's my guess, anything is possible but the minutes he has been given do not lie.
Garth Snow said recently if he does stay, no WJC, he plays the entire season as a New York Islander.
Having written that it's tough to say what the Islanders will actually do here despite the minutes and the strong play he has shown. He looks comfortable with the speed of the NHL game, he has very good passing instincts and is not shy about getting in the trenches and he is visible.
Of course there are a lot of good reasons for him to go to Windsor and then the WJC and just develop with players his own age on an outstanding club.
There is also the situation with his contract, which begins now if he plays his tenth game on Saturday. Sometimes if things are equal (sometimes/not) things are decided by contract.
Nate Thompson has returned-Mitch Fritz is back in Bridgeport.
I would guess Jackman-Colliton are the replacements for Sillinger-Okposo.
Roster wise at some point Mike Comrie will be back.
I expect by the trade deadline if Frans Nielsen is ready a lot will again have changed with the roster to where he will have a spot.
We'll know very soon.
