NYIFC Comments: Butch Goring not only deserves his jersey retired, he legitimately belongs in the NHL Hall of Fame for his entire career. The NHL trade deadline will always be defined by the trade to bring him to New York. Player, champion, NHL coach, Minor League coach, this man's contribution has lasted for generations, and will continue long into the future.
