New York Trades Chimera for Wagner

NYIFC Comments: Best of luck to Jason Chimera, was not happening for him this season. Wagner's played every game for Ducks, he's second in NHL in hits, and has a few points, they needed a depth forward so hardly a bad deal.

New York Trades Third Rd Pick For Brandon Davidson

New York Islander Fan Central | 2/24/2018 03:29:00 PM |
Edmonton Journal 2/3/18: Has high praise for Davidson, but this paper also tried to sell Strome as better than Eberle last summer. Of course anything is better than Dolan's paper which is no credible coverage at all.
NYIFC Comments: Another defender who may or may not help, does not seem a big improvement on what they have dressed now on the backline but a third round pick is significant. If he's a left defenseman, it's bad new for Hickey, deHaan or Toews moving forward because he is a RFA. If he's a right defender, it means Aho, Seidenberg move down the depth chart or #4 is traded. Edmonton drafted him, kept him for years, traded hum, then claimed him back on waivers, so they must have liked him a little to reacquire him?

Bailey Re-Signs Six Years !!

New York Islander Fan Central | 2/23/2018 02:35:00 PM |
"Josh has become one of the core members of the New York Islanders," Islanders President and General Manager Garth Snow said. "He has developed within our system for several years and it's exciting to see him mature into the player we always had confidence he would become. To come into the past few seasons and see Josh set new career highs each year, has been impressive and we're excited to see him continue to do that with the organization as we move forward."
NYIFC Comments: It's an excellent signing, and one they needed, but for this to work, he has to be the player he has been the last 2 seasons.

NYI 41-Day Tenant In Cuomo-Dolan Belmont Ponzi Scheme Arena

New York Islander Fan Central | 2/18/2018 10:32:00 AM |
The Dolan's paper did have this in their newspaper the night before, but the conflicts of interest are a mile long.

Bottom line it's Dolan's arena, the one he failed to win vs Ratner in 2013 so this is revenge. At best NYI will be in the same situation they were when the Philadelphia Flyers/Smg operated the Nassau Coliseum, but this time it will be without Nassau County owning building, NYS/Cuomo leased the land for pennies on the dollar.

And this time you can bet there will be plenty of out clauses.

Dolan's Newspaper has sold this like a marketing campaign for their employer from top to bottom, same as we saw to stop 2011 arena vote, and get Dolan the Coliseum bid in 2013.

Unlike the past they don't even have to hide it, but the Dolan name and massive conflicts of interest of course is kept out of their newspaper. Lhoda worked at Cablevision Garden for ten years.

And we are a long, long way from an actual lease.

NY Times 10/29/13: Lhotas years working for the Dolans.

We will continue to read it's the NYI arena as the marketing ploy, when they are only a 41 day tenant, the cover names like Oakview (with no real money beyond Cuomo/Dolan, via taxpayers)  & NY Arena partners.

So how is this the NYI arena beyond being a 41-day tenant, is this why Ledecky said it's a private matter who owns the arena?

Unreal for some good reasons, and more than a few not-so good reasons.

Mr Snow Wasting Our Time Again Lying About Injuries

New York Islander Fan Central | 2/08/2018 09:04:00 AM |
Snow gave an interview to Dolan's Newsday as moving trucks are loading up to take their operations to College Point operated by NY Times distribution, the exodus is on as Zipay is done covering Rags. (he claimed not the reason he's leaving)

Bottom line, most of what he said, I had no issue with. But I do not like lies or my time being wasted which I made clear in past about his actions on that stage with Nolan in 2008 where he said they talk daily and work well together, then his rebuilding word non-sense from 11/27/2009.

Snow's team was giving up tons of shots and goals starting opening night long before deHaan, Boychuk, and others were hurt, same as their powerplay gave up two goals in the opener vs Buffalo, it's entirely on Snow & his coach.

There was no Streit-Okposo injury in a scrimmage, they are not leading NHL in man games lost by a mile like 08,09, 11 where the number went from 400/500/620, and even those teams were not facing anything close to this many shots a game.

Long time readers will remember this back on 11/27/09 in Tavares rookie season when Snow talked about the rebuilding word Globe & Mail.

At the time I wrote words matter, and don't waste our time beyond usual rhetoric on lies.

By 2011 Snow was hammering the rebuilding word, now he's using the injury excuse, it's not acceptable. Owners own.

Sorry But No Positives Here

I don't like repeating things written in recent entries.

We all want our team to win, but it's clear unless something changes out of nowhere that's not going to happen under this management/ownership.

On the ice, the coaching staff had two days to prepare for a tired team who lost/traveled Friday, and managed to give up 26 first period shots/49 for game.

I'm seeing mistakes/shots against that could rival 1972 Islanders, as words from Weight reflect a man completely over his head in this job.
