In short, this means Phoenix (worst case) will be run by the league for another year if a local buyer cannot be found. Edmonton taxpayers, will help contribute to their version of a LH (which includes a casino) while in New York, the 20th anniversary of the NY Times first report announcing Isles need new arena, will have been released, next March.

Newsday: Erik Boland covered the Islanders beat for Wednesday's article and reports on Berard's injury. Ted Nolan will put Marc-Andre Bergeron back in the lineup for Saturday's game against Carolina.

"He had a couple of off games, so we gave him a rest and with everyone playing so well, we couldn't get him back in the lineup," Nolan said. "The guys ahead of him were just playing that much better. You have to give him credit because he's been very positive. Right now, he has a chance to get back in there and do his thing."

NYI Fan Central Comments:
The picture is exactly where I thought Berard got hurt watching the game.

Hopefully the time off settled down Bergeron. My early impression of him right or wrong is he had no pressure coming here from Edmonton and got a chance to settle in but now that he's on the club from day one with expectations as well as a new defensive partner who was also new in Andy Sutton it's more of a struggle for him.

I don't know, we'll have to see how he does starting against Carolina.

"It can be heartbreaking when you lose and make a play like that, but you learn from it."
