Visnovsky Negotiating New Contract With New York/Priority To Remain In NHL

New York Islander Fan Central | 5/25/2015 07:07:00 AM |
Sport.aktuality.sk: Has Visnovsky's comments his preference is to remain with New York or the NHL.

"I spoke with representatives of Klagenfurt, but I did not sign anything. My priority is to stay still in the NHL, we are negotiating a new contract even with NY Islanders. If there is disagreement, test the free market.  I have practically the whole summer to get a new contract. "

The heavily translated article has Visnovsky's comments on Grabner perhaps playing in the Austrian league in the future.

Playing Out The String For New York/Notables

New York Islander Fan Central | 1/29/2014 06:59:00 AM
Olympics-Not interested. Amateurs should only be participating, but this is when the players act like the league in their sense of entitlement.

Vanek comments on if it were Penguins-The Islanders got the favorable review against Pittsburgh on Thursday in the third period on the 4-5 goal, even if Kris King's explanation was as insulting as television ratings release of Stadium series games or announced sellout on Wednesday.

I like Vanek, however when he was traded he was outspoken, it did not play well then or on Saturday.

Hold the lead for another thirty seconds, problem solved.

Outdoor Game-Not interested. New York should be hosting the Canadians in the Heritage classic featuring only NHL Dynasties. It's the fake Yankee Stadium funded by taxpayers. (Same as the taxpayer funded monument in Queens)

A twice convicted felon (Steinbrenner) got paid, Bernie Madoff's pal, Fred Wilpon got paid all via taxpayers.

The Cuomo family defend everyone getting taxpayer money with Mario Cuomo celebrating outside of court with Wilpon. (just not the New York Islanders)

The House that Ruth built (dramatically remodeled 1973-76) was reduced to rubble five years ago.

Only thing more phony will be shaking hands afterward with a team they play again------FRIDAY.

I guess Friday is when the Msg people will be allowed to comment (like Barclay's game/practice they went AWOL) again as did Msg network in terms of live practice coverage.

So after all the Ranger media salesman for years telling everyone they must host an outdoor game, now the spin is they never could to keep their taxpayer handout?

Go figure someone would have reported that over the years. Any neutral site or European home game should have made the tax money forfeit long ago.

The Rangers were the home team against the Devils, in Halifax in November of 1993 in a neutral site game.

It really screams these tiny updates on Islanders at Barclay's Center are just that with no credible confirmed league information with quotes.

Looks like Andrew MacDonald's burned out, and Hamonic is hurt, sadly I wrote this was coming in November, what's Capuano to do?

Kevin Poulin took a team from ten under to three under, on a team with no experienced top four defenders, the sixth goal against the Bruins means he's not ready?

Please stop.

This team almost had it's longest road winning streak in decades with Poulin  in net.

Visnovsky's return, great news, he's signed for next year you keep him healthy-No Olympics.

Five games under, Islanders now need to play eighteen games over to have any chance at a playoff spot, and they have not had two days off since 1/8. (unlike most teams)

Sorry, however the rest is simply playing out the string. (it's been that way since November)

Do not know where it will go with Vanek or MacDonald, however I expect both traded at the deadline, unless resigned front-loaded. (which Islanders cannot do)

Wang went to court on 1/28 for opening arguments on Marriott foreclosure, after again hosting the kids for the Lighthouse Tournament.

Expecting New York To Go Into Free Fall Losing Streak

New York Islander Fan Central | 10/20/2013 12:22:00 PM
10.20.13: Updated 6:15pm. Brock Nelson was recalled to New York after playing one game for Bridgeport.

There are simply too many holes. Visnovsky's likely extended loss to injury just created another big one. Nabokov has been very solid.

What I see is a team doing it's absolutely best, not a question of effort.

Visnovsky Signs " No Move " Contract Through 2014-15

New York Islander Fan Central | 3/30/2013 07:38:00 AM |
Islanders website: Announed defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky has resigned with the New York Islanders through the 2014-15 season.

Agent Neil Sheehy had the only comments so far on the signing via twitter, and like Islander prospect, Brendan Kichton, had some criticism for the media which again screams Arthur Staple of Cablevision another NHL owned team at Newsday.

More importantly Sheehy, said this is a no-move contract, which means little if Visnovsky at some future point wishes to be traded. Bottom line another player comes here, finds it a place they wish to be, and resigns which say everything about how this franchise is run.

Yes, if Visnovsky decides to retire or stay home the Islanders have themselves a cap hit with no player so there is a risk here.

 1. Islanders announce Visnovsky signing. Lubo never had issue with NYI as media continually and falsely reports and signed "No-Move" contract.
 2. Expect an announcement from New York Islanders regarding Lubomir Visnovsky's future with the Club. Lubo loves New York! :-)
 3. Lubomir Visnovsky is impressed with Garth Snow and his teammates on the New York Islanders. Lubo wants to help the organization win.

Lubomir Visnovsky Officially A New York Islander

New York Islander Fan Central | 9/12/2012 03:42:00 PM
Islnders website& USA Today: Reports the arbitrator has upheld the trade between the New York Islanders/Anaheim Ducks.

Neil Sheehy, Visnovsky's agent, said he and his client accepted the decision.

"This was a CBA issue between the NHL and the NHLPA," he said. "The language wasn't clear, it's clear now. The arbitrator made it clear. I fully accept it and Lubo does as well, there are no issues. The arbitrator has spoken."

NYIFC Comments:
Visnovsky can retire, he can opt to play in the KHL if there is no lockout, he cannot play in his home country unless there is a lockout.

The New York Islanders own his NHL rights for the next calendar year whether he likes it or not, in the unlikely event there is a CBA agreement, he is obligated to report.

Anaheim officially has the New York Islanders second round pick in the 2013 NHL entry draft.

Tsn.ca: Reports on the guidelines announced by the KHL which will limit the job opportunities for current NHL players.

NYIFC Comments:
Perhaps I got that one wrong, however there was no KHL in 04-05, this is an established league now that recently has tried to put a stop to the Radulov-like moves by players despite no on-paper agreement.

Boston Globe: Reports Bruins gm, Peter Chiarelli, has told them the NHL has granted its clubs an expanded waivers period meaning once a player clear waivers, they will be free to report to the club's AHL affiliate, and dress for AHL games.

Providence training camp opens 9/28, meaning the Sound Tigers likely will go along the same lines.

Tsn.ca: Also reports the NHL/NHLPA exchanged offers Wednesday.

Visnovsky Arbitration Updates/Comments 9/5-9/6

New York Islander Fan Central | 9/06/2012 04:38:00 AM

Updated 9/6 5am.
Visnovsky says if he wins his arbitration he would support remaining in Anaheim if circumstances are right.

Pravda.com: Has Lubomir Visnovsky's comments on his hearing/future with video. (rough translation)

"I waited by the phone at home, or do not call me. Was silent. Phoned me only agent who claimed that it looks promising. Apparently the 51% I'll win. To appease me (laughs). As it turned out, I have to know in September 15 I'm a little nervous. More than a decision in this matter but I am wondering if the lockout overseas. every indication that the NHL will not start on time. least a week or two, maybe a month it will probably stretch. remains to be seen what will then be a party yet still allow. "

If Visnovsky with your complaint to arbitration succeeds, he can not imagine a return to the Ducks team.

"I'm thinking that I should remain in anahata live because there is beautiful. Whether you would like to play for the Ducks, depends mainly on the attitude of general manager and coach. I need to feel confident. They want me at the club."

NYIFC Comments:
In this article Visnovsky made clear enough if he wins, he is simply not going to report to the Islanders on principal.
************************************************
Ticinonews.com Islanders captain, Mark Streit, discusses his plans if a lockout, and makes clear as an UFA next summer wants to sign with a playoff team.
************************************************
In the extremely odd department, the laughingstock NY Post (which does not cover New York Islander Hockey) had a blog entry with comments from Lubomir Visnovsky's agent, Neil Sheehy  9/5 with details of the arbitration, hearing processs with a decision likely announced before the cba expires on 9/15 which is in the hands of George Nicolau.

“The argument from both sides is the same,” Visnovsky’s agent, Neil Sheehy, told The Post on Wednesday. “The argument from the league was that the CBA is very clear, and the case for the NHLPA is that the CBA is very clear.”

“To me, it’s really 50/50,” said Sheehy, who was a witness at the hearing. “It’s something that has to be interpreted.”

Even more comical the Post turned that 9/5 blog entry into a 9/6 article.
**************************
NYIFC Comments:
Of course the only important news is Visnovsky obviously was not seriously injured recently which would have made for a very interesting/different hearing if he sustained a career ending injury.

Obviously Ducks gm, Bob Murray, put up an argument for the trade when he simply could have given in, and taken back the player.

One way or another this will finally be resolved soon. Only Visnovsky know's what he will ultimately do, it's not like he was forced to put on an Islander jersey and go workout.

It seems since the draft when Snow spoke with the Post,  Brett Cyrgalis, has been allowed at very odd times to come up with updates, even rebutting the Columbus Dispatch on draft day trade rumors.

It's not like Cyrgalis informed the public on the day of the hearing.

In The Comedy Department:
Dolan's assigned Islander beatwriter, Arthur Staple, apparently was too busy with vacation (after a summer off) to bother with an update at Cablevision's newspaper nor did sports editor, Hank Winnicki, bother assigning a writer to the story, but a new Mets beatwriter was announced here.

The Newsday staff (not Randi Marshall)  was too busy very carefully wording the departure release of the third Msg President in nine years, where most of the other papers were not shy bringing up James Dolan.

Isles failed former media relations coordinator (not shy about keeping people updated about former Isles President, Chris Dey's resume) of course did not go near it.

He only supposedly writes about sports business now?

NYIFC Comments:
Of course if Pat Hickey wants to replace Red Fisher and keep corporate owner Molson happy with his work (advertising dollar relationship with the Gazette) what he cannot do is write Montreal is a franchise that has not front-loaded contracts along with Toronto under Brian Burke.

Therefore they have had about the same success in UFA as the New York Islanders, and many other clubs that have not front-loaded.

Cannot be because they play at the horrid Montreal Forum any longer.

Visnovsky Talks 9/4 Arbitration Hearing Video

New York Islander Fan Central | 8/23/2012 10:39:00 AM |

Sportky: Has another long interview with Lubomir Visnovsky (coaching kids) where a lot is lost in translation but the following was made clear enough:

1. He's not going to America for the arbitration, it will be done by video.

2. Would prefer if the season started normally and it's not a pleasant wait regarding CBA as he discussed 9/15.

Among the quoted comments:

"Fighting in this case also for the other players. Fight for it to be in the rules of procedure, whether it is entitled under the conditions change player, told myself that I'm going into it with that purpose. Whether I end up in the Islanders or elsewhere, I do not care."

Slovak defender is ready for any court decision. "Islanders for me is not a problem." Myself I count the fact that I stay there. However One never knows, maybe I will come back to Anaheim. In this case, I ask the club about a list of ten teams, which would have to be replaced. Would then negotiate . might come but that they come over to the defense.'ll see what happens, rather I will overtake. Firstly, I have to wait for the decision of the court. When I came back to Anaheim, maybe I wrote the list in the first place Islanders. shall not prevent the play for the Islanders, my regard to justice, to be clear in the rules."

New York Notables, Trivino, Satan Update

New York Islander Fan Central | 8/08/2012 06:56:00 PM
A very quiet time for the NHL/New York Islanders in general as the CBA dance continues which will only get serious come early September in ownership circles.

For those wondering this blog only is interested in Corey Trivino regarding hockey matters. As of early 8/8/12 Boston Herald reported BU spokesman Colin Riley said Trivino is no longer enrolled at the school meaning he did not graduating voiding his 8/15 graduating deadline.

The Boston Globe  reported, Trivino, a Canadian Citizen was expelled from school. A student visa that allowed him to stay in the United States while he studied is no longer valid, and he will live at home in the Toronto area until he reports to training camp.

His attorney/agents made clear he intends to sign an NHL contract within the next month whether it be with the Islanders or another NHL organization.

NYIFC Comments:
Per the cba this means at some point he had to give the Isles notice he intended to turn professional per the Wheeler rule meaning the Isles had thirty days to negotiate a contract or he is an UFA which could have happened this week or at some earlier point.

Still this likely means the Isles just wasted a second round pick with no return.

sport.cas.sk: Has a new interview with Miroslav Satan where he makes clear he could remain in Slovakia, or play in the KHL with nothing difinitive regarding Lubomir Visnovsky's claim about the Isles negotiating with him but he does discuss a possible lockout.

sport.aktuality: Had Satan's comments 8/8 Islanders are a possibility with his son enrolled in school here.
Detractors in hockey is whispered that it is excluded or an alternative that would have ultimately anchored in Ney York Islanders. So which is it?

"Yes, there is such a possibility, but now the team seriously considered. The threatened lockout overseas, so this option is currently not consider too. "

NYIFC Comments:
Satan did not play in the NHL last season, he is entitled to sign wherever he wishes, what Visnovsky said really does not tell us what Satan or the Isles are absolutely interested nor have the Isles had any restrictions in making him offers in many recent year as he has trained here.

If a hearing date is announced for Visnovsky, we'll finally get an answer which if a CBA issue could drag on for months. There is no law Anaheim's gm, Bob Murray, has to even show up, he could simply decide to keep him or trade him to a team on his allowed list while Garth Snow get's back his draft pick.
