New York draft pick/NHL prospects become Sound Tigers only |
Long story short, to become NHL players, these players have to sign NHL contracts. Helgeson no longer has an NHL contract, the college pick who's NHL rights expired signed an AHL deal.

Transactions: Ho-Sang/Old paperwork filed |
#Isles Transactions: Forwards AJ Greer and Josh Ho-Sang have agreed to terms on one-year contracts. Defensemen Mitch Vande Sompel and Parker Wotherspoon have agreed to terms on two-year deals. https://t.co/VqfhWRia1W
— New York Islanders (@NYIslanders) October 27, 2020
#NYI #isles How did this play out? Ho-Sang agreed to an NHL pay cut from 874k to 700k (Dal Colle salary) & an AHL raise from 70k to 225k.
— New York Islander Fan Central (@NYIFANCENTRAL) October 27, 2020
Most of this is old paperwork, announced by everyone but the team. I don't think Lamoriello would have accepted any salary increase for Ho-Sang, who made 70k, and walked away, but still got a qualifying offer to retain his rights. The prospect site here is always updated.

Devin Toews Traded To Colorado |
“There were a lot of circumstances that came into play in this decision.”
— New York Islanders (@NYIslanders) October 12, 2020

#Isles Transaction: The team has acquired the Colorado Avalanche’s second round selections in the 2021 and 2022 NHL Drafts, in exchange for defenseman Devon Toews. pic.twitter.com/Skc1t1PQsR
— New York Islanders (@NYIslanders) October 12, 2020
#NYI #isles Not a fan of this trade at all, and especially not for only two second round picks. Greene cost a second at his age as a pending UFA, it should not cost Toews to get it back.

New York Signings/Trades 10/11/20-Beyond |
#Isles Trade: The Islanders have acquired A.J. Greer from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Kyle Burroughs. https://t.co/vux5YfkPDM
— New York Islanders (@NYIslanders) October 11, 2020
#NYI #isles Greer was qualified by Colorado on 10/7/20 so trade a wash beyond NHL experience, and Lamoriello adding another LW to an organization with many left wings.

New York UFA 7/1-Beyond |
Our tenant minoriy owner signed a steel beam at Belmont, at what looks like two days of UBS/MSG2 spam to deflect from business on 7/1 when fans who made deposits want new toys. Seems like it's all about 2021-22, and a terrible look, but it's early.
#NYI #isles So Ledecky said team sold 10,000 seats said eighty percent while Leiweke said they sold half the seats & 1/3 of luxury boxes. Clearly they are not being honest. pic.twitter.com/E3uSWoOoTS
