Same Problem Players For New York In Preseason + Major Dobson Issues |
Noah Dobson is not getting ten million for this many defensive mistakes, it happened last season, and here we go again. This is about bad decisions, pinching, him being so readable on a powerplay as he plays catch with a forward and other team easily sees it. He's struggling, and it goes back to last season. He's not a RFA, so he can wait all season for his next contract. This is not NHL defense.
#NYC #NYI #isles Everyone knows Pageau, Palmieri, Cizikas, Engvall, Mayfield are the biggest problem players on this roster. Not Wahlstrom who's now healthy. It's time to eject these veterans. Theising, Foudy prospects outskate them every game.
— New York Islander Fan Central (@NYIFANCENTRAL) September 27, 2024
They have to move on from these players any way possible. I like the younger players. Foudy has an extra gear, Gauthier can skate very well, Tsyplakov looked better with Gauthier, then those slow veterans who get beat in all three zones. Wahlstrom needs to be in the lineup. Martin needs to retire, Fasching is hurt, and is not going to do much with those veterans. Cholowski looked bigger/noticable in his games, and steady. Mayfield's not hurt, he looks thinner/faster, and we see the mistakes everywhere with a seven year contract.
Roy looks like a five hundred coach, he already leaked by mistake Sorokin's injury who won't be ready for the regular season. Hogberg has been very good, but the ceiling will cave in on Varlamov. Bolduc needs to play or move on, they picked him over Aho, who will help Pens. Odelius had a few good moments. Hutton (now wearing #34) has looked good.

Training Camp Day One/Roy Speaks Again |
2024-25 Training Camp Day 1: Patrick Roy https://t.co/i8O4EDNcxQ
— New York Islander Fan Central (@NYIFANCENTRAL) September 19, 2024
Not a fan, he disclosed Sorokin's injury which is against the rules, his agent could have complained, demanded a trade. If someone did that to "player Patrick Roy" he would be furious. I don't like anything he brings, and felt we have a staff on par with Doug Weight's 2017-18 disaster. Abelin has not been behind a bench in NHL since 2008.
Hopefully someone kicks Matt Martin's ass into retirement. We need skaters who can score, backcheck, same goes for ping pong Pageau, Cizikas. Anyone can do better then last on PK allowing most shots in NHL, that could not hold a lead to save their lives unless a goalie survived a twenty shot plus period. That group needed most of the ssn to score an ENG.

What Happens When New York Camp Opens? |
#NYC #NYI #isles So camp will open players will get photo's and physicals, they will skate for three days, and then after we get the usual unexpected injuries they go play exhibition games, nothing magical happens here. Roy speaks more to Canadian media.

At best the failed Belmont experiment will see one practice. Someone has to go if Martin is retained to be Ross Johnston unless he clears waivers.

#NYC #NYI #isles Another day, another team wants no part of Long Island or the failed Belmont experiment in Queens. The PWHL team (keeping the NY name) is playing all it's game in Newark at the Prudential Center.

We can't move home to Barc fast enough or make a deal w/Cohen.
